Keukenhof Botanical garden in Lisse, Netherlands is one of the largest flower gardens in the world. Covering an area of 32 hectares, Keukenhof also known as “the garden of Europe” is a 30mins drive from Amsterdam and has been around since 1950.

The flowers planted in the garden are different varieties of tulips and there’s 40 gardeners who plant the over 7 million bulbs every year. On the Garden grounds is a huge parking lot, endless rows of colorful tulips, restaurants, a small lake, fountains, a music machine (video below) and relaxation area.

The garden is a major tourist attraction and when I visited in April of last year, I was shocked to see thousands of tourists. In-fact according to wikipedia, the garden had over 1.5 million visitors in 2019 alone.

The entry fee into the garden is 18 euros a person and it’s well worth the money.

Would you visit this garden if you visit the Netherlands?
