Into the wild

Into the wild

Comfort; the poison that drains us of growth
That zone where stagnation and order walk hand in hand, dancing away our time
It’s too easy to get caught up in the routine, the way things should be and the way it should remain
We all want certainty, predictable outcomes to how our life’s story unfolds
But the truth that’s bitter and ice cold is this; nothing worth drinking is ever drawn from the well of comfort
The things that change the future or rewrite history are never born from the conventional
Except you love to be stunted or are too afraid of chaos, run wild into complexity, stay there and you will grow.

What freedom is

What freedom is

When night comes and I lay down to rest
My mind begins the round the world guilt trip, every mistake, every flaw, every sad story replays before my very eyes, keeping them awake.
When eventually sleep comes and takes me away
My mind drifts into the rem, there were dreams come alive; blurry images, distorted, pale faces, made into a motion picture, giving my subconscious life.
When morning comes and the sun rises
My mind awakens to the endless cycle
The wheel turns and turns, keeping the pace with time and this is how it will be
But I have the power and so I choose the path for my thoughts to walk; this is freedom.

I have you

I have you

I’m reaching out, stretching out my soul for you to lift me up. I’m seeing stars, dreaming dreams that have long faded away. I’m hanging on to a jaded past of lonely nights and silk scars. Innocence is not here, the child is still a child but only now forgotten inside. Uncertainty is the only certainty we know and the mirrors will never tell a lie, even though I hold the clay, all that is and all that will be is not in my hands to mold, but I have you, my potter, the fire that never sleeps.

Distracted

Distracted

For a while I’ve been in the loop, I’m experiencing a paradigm shift in my mind. Everything I’ve ever believed in is being slaughtered at the table of doubt. They say some things are relative, based on perception, that there is no right or wrong, only consequences. Is this a perceptive truth?
There’s something in the way our mind works, deciphering, processing, breathing. So complex yet so human, ordinary, mysterious. It’s not about the lifestyle, it’s not about the money; Maybe most of us are distracted from our purpose by the smoking mirrors of things.

Ramblings

Ramblings

Satisfaction is a myth
Treasures are not found on the street corner
What lies on the surface is not deep and life gives no hand outs
You have a right, yes but do you know your rights?
Knowledge left to fallow is not power
Wisdom and money can get you almost anything
But only wisdom can save your life
We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall.
